Mexican Basketball is caliente (hot) in Clearwater.

The Lakers, a local Mexican basketball team led by Lionel is in contention for the centro cristiano championship.    Adrian’s team was beaten this weekend.  Lionel’s Lakers are in contention.
    If the Lakers win the next two games they will be the church champions.                                              Clearwater Sun subscriber Stan Kosharsky said “Lionel is known for shooting three-pointers and is a great team leader.  He put the team together.  I played with him in a pickup game.  He’s little, but compared to me, el es tan rápidamente como un conejo.”  (He’s fast like a rabbit.) 
    Centro Cristiano el Shaddai is on Lakeview between Highland and Missouri on the North side of the road.  Basket ball is played every Friday evening and Saturday during the day, continuing after sundown.  They play under the lights in the outside court..  A healthy fruit cup is available for $2.00 and other super Mexican food is available.
       “There’s a whole lot of nice people there,” Mr. Kosharsky added. “There are a lot of women teams too.”
